    The Project Accountant provides accounting, analysis, and reporting for Automation projects.  This position prepares monthly reports and assists the project managers and the corporate Controller in managing all financial aspects of Automation projects.


    Essential Functions:

    • Compiles and distributes monthly project reports to PMs
    • Reconciles the GL deferred cost and deferred revenue monthly to the WIP
    • Provides monthly schedule of projects to be closed and the resulting margin
    • Quarterly report of open projects with expected revenue & costs and projected closing dates
    • Invoices customers, keeps accurate invoicing progress schedule, and works directly with PMs regarding the invoicing milestones
    • Gathers, confirms, enters, and monitors labor cost allocations
    • Maintains budget vs actual comparison for each project
    • Creates, confirms, and tracks project purchase orders
    • Provides routine and Ad Hoc Financial Reporting for PMs and upper management
    • Sets up new projects using existing project structure and ensures use of standardized cost codes
    • Recommends improvement modifications to existing processes and programs
    • Works with Sister Companies and financial accounting regarding project back charges
    • Assists with project budget & forecast calculations
    • Maintains systems and controls to verify the integrity of all processed project data
    • Prepares for and participates in annual external and internal audit process




    • BA in Accounting or Finance
    • 2-3 Years of accounting or financial analysis, project business preferred
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including financial modeling, pivot tables, and vlookup
    • Strong planning and budgeting abilities
    • Microsoft Dynamics AX experience is a plus
    • Ability to meet strict deadlines
