    The Software QA engineer ensures that SSI Schaefer Systems’ quality standards for software and software development are met.  This position requires knowledge about software development processes, software QA tools and methodologies and intra-logistical processes.


    Essential Functions:

    • Test and validate software implementations against requirements 
    • Create software testing documentation
    • Actively communicate with team members, IT Project Manager, Software Developer Lead and Software QA engineer lead about the work and status
    • Actively escalate issues to IT Project Manager, Software Developer Lead, Software QA engineer lead
    • Participate in team meetings on an as-needed basis 
    • Set-up and execute test scenarios for commissioning
    • Troubleshoot system issues in 1st, 2nd or 3rd level depending on project requirements
    • Supports IT CSS engineers and on-site Software Support Engineers 
    • Effectively communicate with customers if required.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Occasionally perform installation of network or computer hardware if required by a project in the office or on-site
    • Occasionally handle test product required for test scenarios on-site (Tubs, Totes, Cases etc.)
    • Support system ramp-up and go-live on-site 
    • Commission and test software on-site



    • 4-year degree in Computer Science/ Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience in similar work
    • 1 year of experience with Java or other object-oriented programming languages
    • 1 year of experience with SQL databases (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server)
    • May travel internationally for training, project assignments and commissioning.
