The IT Technician role provides help and advice to people and organizations using computer software or equipment. This role supports the corporate information technology (IT) environment with assistance to the IT team and users. This position performs activities to make sure the IT team is performing at maximum efficiency and provides the best client service and value.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve helpdesk tickets as assigned
  • Assist IT staff with tasks as assigned
  • Walk customers through the recommended problem-solving steps
  • Set up or repair computer equipment and related devices
  • Installing, updating and troubleshooting software
  • Installing and support hardware
  • Device Management and administration
  • Receive and stock inventory and supplies
  • Count inventory and supplies making recommendations for reorder
  • Provide best practice process to end users for use of IT equipment
  • Document steps taken and tasks completed
  • Printer installation, support, and repair for laser, inkjet, and large format printers
  • Provide technical help to non-IT computer users
  • Respond to phone and email requests for help
  • In person support to resolve tickets
  • Improve the overall Help Desk processes
  • Effective communication with customers, team members, and management
  • Works on-call in 1st, 2ndor 3rd shifts on a rotating basis
  • Shift work on an as needed basis for system support and/or projects
  • Ability to prioritize support issues to solve mission critical issues first

Qualifications

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • Problem solving skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Hardware repair and support skills
  • Software repair and support skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent people skills

 Preferred:

  • Associate’s Degree with computer-related classes and training
  • 1 or more years supporting desktops, laptops, and printers in a corporate environment
