    Schaefer Systems International is seeking a Plant Manager for its facility in Lodi, California. The plant manager will be responsible for overseeing all plant activities in order to meet business objectives. The successful candidate will be accountable for all aspects of plant performance, and will ensure that objectives are attained in a cost-effective manner that’s consistent with established quality requirements.

    Responsibilities

    • Overseeing technical aspects of operations with injection molding machines, molds, and related equipment
    • Facility staffing - including hiring, interviewing, and training along with management of existing staff
    • Managing daily operations in a manufacturing environment
    • Ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and efficiency of the facility
    • Controlling costs to achieve organizational goals
    • Effective communications with corporate personnel related to the production schedule, staffing, and facility operations.
    • Driving Continuous Improvement philosophy in all aspects of the facility

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in a technical discipline; experience will be considered in lieu of degree
    • 7-10 years of progressive responsibilities in supervision and management of a plastic injection molding operation with an orientation towards technical disciplines. (processing, tooling, maintenance )
    • Experience with Preventative Maintenance programs
    • Proficient with MS Office
    • Excellent communication and people management skills
    • Experience managing in the State of CA and familiarity with local laws, safety regulations, and employment practices preferred
    • Effective problem solving/ troubleshooting skills
