  • Overview

    The System Administrator is responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. The Individual is also responsible for company storage and backups of physical and virtual servers. Individual is expected to be available for Tier 2/3 support cases and should be available 24/7 in case of an emergency. Individual is also asked to create\manage users and groups in Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange as well as group policy management.


    • Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. to meet company standards.
    • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes.
    • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
    • Manage\Improve current storage and backup environment.
    • Manage\Improve email security systems.
    • Manage\Improve VMware environment.
    • Create, change, and delete user accounts and Exchange mailboxes per request.
    • Create/manage all group policies.
    • Administer service management and asset management systems
    • Tier 2/3 IT support.
    • Automating tasks within management tools
    • Create and maintain methods and procedures (M&P’s)
    • Effective communication with customers, team members, and management
    • Works on-call in 1st, 2nd or 3rd shifts on a rotating basis
    • Shift work on an as needed basis for system support and/or projects


    • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, IS, or Computer Science.
    • 5 or more years supporting physical/ virtual servers in a corporate environment
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following areas
      • Windows server
      • Linux server
      • VMware
      • Active Directory
      • Microsoft Exchange
      • Server Patching and Maintenance.
      • SANs
      • Server Backup Solutions
      • Excellent technical skills
      • Strong understanding of network infrastructure
      • Long Distance support via remote tools
      • Device Management tools
      • Understanding of Information Security
      • Innovative thinker


    Addition Requirements: (preferred)

    • ITIL Certification
    • VMWare certifications
