Overview

The Event Planner works with the marketing team to implement show displays, coordinates all documentation and orders show services to ensure efficiency, consistency, and overall timeliness of all North America tradeshow plan and event projects and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides planning for all industry tradeshows related tasks with the highest standard of detail of planning and delivery.
  • Manages and maintains the location and quality of all tradeshow materials in and out of internal and external warehouses.
  • Works with outside vendors to ensure accuracy and timeliness of tradeshow services and materials.
  • Works closely with vendors for fabrication of event displays to ensure quality craftsmanship, creativity, and on-time delivery.
  • Responsible for on-site supervision of selected high priority shows for installation and dismantle.
  • Appropriately schedules and manages projects to meet deadlines.
  • Maintains up to date inventories of show collateral for all divisions.
  • Receives incoming shipments and verifies inventory from show sites while providing quality control, shortages, and damaged equipment. Works with I&D vendor to get equipment fixed.
  • Provides creative input for events, show exhibits, and display material.
  • Must be able to complete show electrical, material handling, and other show paperwork as needed and ensure installation of such ordered items.
  • Develop planning for installation and dismantle of large structures and calculate staffing needs.
  • Helps with pre- and post-show campaign planning and execution including targeting list for email blast and post show follow-up when needed.
  • Must be able to adhere to budget guidelines.

 

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Manages in house displays to include management of equipment repair, regular preventive maintenance, and repair show collateral.
  • Performs other duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of prior event planning experience.
  • Prior trade or event work with installation and dismantle show experience preferred.
  • Experience with handling carpentry, fabrication, and woodworking projects.
  • Two-year degree or equivalent course credits from an accredited university.
  • Must be detail orientated and have strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines within tight timeframes.
  • Experience with working with show labor or skilled union trades.
  • Self-starter with ability to work productively in both individual and team settings.
  • Possess a creative edge with a good eye towards high-end exhibits and displays. SSI SCHAEFER wants your creative input.
  • Positive Attitude/ Team Player Attitude.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally (up to 35 to 40% of time).
  • Shipping/receiving experience preferred.
