The CS IT division of SSI Schaefer specifies, designs, and implements software solutions for automated material handling and equipment in warehouses and distribution centers. The Software QA team ensures that quality standards for software and software development are met. This position requires knowledge about software development processes, software QA tools and methodologies, and intra-logistical processes.

Essential Functions:

• Test and validate software implementations against requirements
• Create software testing documentation
• Serve as point of contact for the IT QA function
• Develop, arrange, and oversee training programs
• Maintain QA team by selecting, orienting, training, and developing all members
• Actively communicate with team members, IT Project Manager, and Software Developer Leads about the work and status
• Actively report issues to IT Project Manager, Software Developer Lead, and Vice President of IT Solutions
• Participate in team meetings on an as-needed basis
• Commission and test software on-site
• Set-up and execute test scenarios for commissioning
• Support system ramp-up and go-live on-site
• Troubleshoot system issues in 1^st, 2^nd or 3^rd level depending on project requirements
• Support IT CSS engineers and on-site Software Support Engineers
• Effectively communicate with customers

Supervisory Responsibilities:  This position leads a team of Software QA engineers in technical matters.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Perform installation of network or computer hardware if required by a project in the office or on-site
• Handle test product required for test scenarios on-site (Tubs, Totes, Cases etc.)

• 4-year degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience in similar work.
• 1 year of experience with Java or other object-oriented programming languages.
• 1 year of experience with SQL databases (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server).
• Minimum of 2 years prior management experience is required
• Travel (international, US) may be required for training, project assignments, and commissioning.
• Must be able to work on-call in 1^st, 2^nd, or 3^rd level, as well as shift work on an as-needed basis for system support and/or commissioning
